^^ one of only four 4/20 shows

04/20/68- Thee Image, Miami Beach - Miami, FL
04/20/69- Clark University - Worcester, MA
04/20/83- Providence Civic Center - Providence, RI
04/20/84- Philadelphia Civic Center - Philadelphia, PA

but 4/20 wasn't a big thing yet in the 60s

I call bullshit!!!!!!!!!!! Well maybe the usage of the nickname 420 was not prevalent.............

Thanks Mush Man, I just popped on for an idea of what to listen to.

I'm going to give the '84 show a go. Great setlist (but talk about a LETDOWN encore...)

yes I meant the term 4/20 which was created sometime around then by some kids that used to meet up and smoke at 4:20pm after school (according to High Times magazine and artwork that the kids had)

I'm going on a strong Good Lovin' right now from 4/8/71

84 is a funny year. I think the heavy drug use was beginning to be obvious during this period. There are moments of brilliance,
mixed with some very fast paced versions of songs. Drums/space segment was really growing. This was the period I fell in love
with that segment. (Drums/space on now. Very cool. )

First, I am still loving the '84 show (420). I May try Chesters '84 show next, or I may mix it up with GD radio. Long are the days I stopped to decide.

And I was messing with you about the 420 comment (in good fun of course). I had heard 420 was the police code for a pot bust. "we have a 420 over on the corner of Haight and Ashbury" Set up like a bowling pin and all. But that may be an urban legend.

Just got the new Spectrum Road CD so giving that a listen before I see them live next week. Jack Bruce on bass & vocals , Vernon Reid on guitar, John Medeski on organ & mellotron and Cindy Blackman Santana (yep, Carlos’ wife) on drums & some vocals.

If you like rock-jazz fusion, you will love it. Play it Loud. Play it Very Loud.

I have just enough time for one more show before work is over.

Any suggestions?
