saint of circumstance?

i cant stand it. the main riff is just sooooo lame. it sounds like what would be playing when the contestants take the stage on a game show. to me it represents when the dead were at there most mainstream style (the 80s). i just dislike the song so much i dont understand how anyone likes it. the lyrics are cool i guess but everything else about it is terrible. just too damn 80s for my taste i suppose.

I can totally understand when you say it sounds 80's ish. I am NOT an 80's lover....But I've always loved the song! How can you not! The lyrics totally make the song for me. So many great lines in there....

Just give it a lil more time I'm sure it will start to grow on you.

i've given many many chances. i just cant get past that one riff. DUUUUN DUN DUN DANANA. every time i hear it i think im watching family fued.

Love this song! Helped me through a slightly rough patch of life I would rather forget. I don't hear an 80s riff. Of course, I'm not thinking about the 80s when I hear this song.

I love it! It definitely brings a lot of energy to me, makes me dance my ass off. You migh not come around to it for ten twenty years. It took about ten years or more to like lost sailer. Now I love it.

It's one of my top favorite songs of all time. I understand the negative 80's thing, I mean I was pretty horrified when I saw the cover of Go To Heaven, and it has a bit of that disco (ack!) feel. But I love it, the melody, the rhythm, the words. Like Tony said, for me that was a song that was a major personal re-fueler, especially when it came up at a show. There's nothing written in any holy text that reaches me more than the words of that song, at least as far as offering hope and comfort. If I'm still walking, then I'm always sure that I can dance. And if you can still dance, everything is going to be OK.

However, what does bug me in both Lost Sailor and Saint is people singing "dark star" instead of "dog star".
