#25212 2 years, 11 months ago
Love listening to a good album all the way through. Let's hear yours...

Mine -

1) American Beauty - It's what got me into the GD
2) Abbey Road - Beatles - Hard to belive the band was barely speaking at this point
3) Perfect From Now On - Built to Spill - If you haven't heard this album, you might want to check it out
4) Under the Bushes Under the Stars - Guided By Voices - Awesome!
5) From the Cradle to the Grave - Subhumans - A 20min. long punk rock song?, torture to some, heaven to others
Those who hear not the music. . . think the dancers mad.

foghat - live -- great blues rock
the call - modern romans -- america's answer to u2
yngwie j. malmsteen's rising force - marching out - killer neo-classical firepower

Yeah, I know it's hard to pick five, but I always like to see what music (Dead and non-Dead) people are into

In no particular order, probably my fave albums

1) Shawn Colvin - Live '88 (or Cover Girl - she does an amazing "This Must Be the Place" and "Twilight")
2) Public Enemy - Fear of A Black Planet
3) Michelle Shocked - The Texas Campfire Tapes
4) Dick's Picks 8 (I think) Harpur College '71 - The Grateful Dead
5) Revolver - The Beatles

Very hard to do. It would be something like this,

Elecric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix
Dark side of the moon - Pink Floyd
Exile on Main st. - The Rolling Stones
Europe 72 - The Grateful Dead
Physical Graffitti - Led Zeppelin

There, that's 5. In no particular order. I could easily pick 20 more that would rank as high as those,
so my choices would differ depending on when you asked me.
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.
Who you are, and what you do,
don't make no difference to me.

So true, I forgot "Wish You Were Here" on my list, and about a million others as well

1. Absolutely Live - the Doors
2. The Wall - Pink Floyd
3. Everybody Knows this is Nowhere - Neil Young
4. A1A - jimmy buffett
5. Slowhand - Eric Clapton

many others too, never really liked the Dead's studio albums - they sounded too flat to me.

Great call on The Call, highway. Definitely an underappreciated 80's band.

I've heard so much Dead which I'm not sure of the album (live stuff) so I'm just going to exclude any Dead from my list, cause it could easily be all Dead and JGB anyway.....

Pink Floyd - Animals
Frank Zappa - Sheik Yerbouti
Led Zeppelin IV
Neil Young - Freedom
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers

very hard to just pick 5!
