Best Review of the Cap Run . . . . So Far?

#255300 12 months ago
Topic may be in the wrong spot but watcha all thinking so far? Lots of highlights worthy of putting any of these shows at the top of your list, but for me 4/16 stands out.

4/19 was amazing! Really nice song selection, including the Levon tributes! That was fantastic!
4/20 was really wild. The Dark Star twisted up and spread out, and coiled around, and came back again.
And the Morning Dew had me grinning so big, it almost hurt!
4/21 was my favorite second set. But there are great performances throughout.
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.
Who you are, and what you do,
don't make no difference to me.

I think that Dark Star and Dew are going to be highlights of the run for sure.

The first set on 4/16 from Brown Eyed through Deal was just foot tapp'in knee smack'in smoking though. I do a lot of work while listening to these shows and I dam near beat the SH*T out of my keyboard and broke my office my chair. I through a spinner at one point and knocked stuff over.

loved 4/16, didn't hear any of 4/15 so I am starting there. loved 4/17. 4/19 was good. didn't hear ANY of 4/20. Mad about it. Most of 4/21 was good. LOVED KSM 4/23. Tonight set 2 was good, but that's all I heard.

So I think this spring run is overall better than last year's.

I liked 4/16, 4/20, 4/21 and 4/24 the best so far, in this order:

4/20
4/16
4/21
4/24

4/23 was my least favorite although I loved KSM

I think they have been on a pattern where the second of a triad is the best with the third of a triad being a close second or possibly better depending on what songs you like

Definitely. Last year was great, but they've really grown beyond that. New directions, and more spacey jams, with more energy.

I was at 4/16 and last nights 4/24 and am going tonight. Both shows so far were great. Last nights show would be hard to beat energy-wise -- it was seriously muscular playing. Another poster said 4/24's show was on 'steroids.' I could not agree more.

At the close of 2012's Beacon run they played an incredible Help>Slip>Golden Road>Slip>Franklins. That Golden road surprised us all and the whole combination just blew the roof off of the Beacon!

Yeah this band continues to grow.

Hats off to you Furthur!

Goes to show how being there changes everything. IMO the second set last night was a sleeper with no energy based on the stream I heard. Phil especially seemed tired.
